Lighting is the second biggest user of electricity in industrial and warehouse areas. Traditional HID sources (high bays) not only consume large amounts of electricity and have a short life span, but the heat generated from these light sources may require additional cooling to keep temperatures low which is for instance particularly counterproductive in refrigerated environments. Although linear fluorescent lamps can reduce energy consumption they tend to lose light output faster than LED systems, resulting in a shorter life span. In regards to a reduction of maintenance cost among other advantages LEDs are an ideal solution for industrial and warehouse applications.
Lighting must be designed specifically according to the user’s individual needs. For the first time, LED technology offers for illumination a combination of optimally adapted lighting to the needs of its users and low energy consumption.
